Morris County's first homicide in more than ten years occured last night in Boonton. The victim, Nazish Noorani, 27, was in town to visit family. She and her husband were taking a stroll a mere two blocks from her father's home when the two were shot down. The victim's husband, Kashif Pervaiz, was hit by at least two bullets, but survived.
As of the writing of this post, there are no known suspects. It does appear however, that Mr. Pervaiz may have been having an extramarital affair. Records from Boston, where the couple currently reside, indicate that Mr. Pervaiz was involved in a domestic dispute with a woman who is not his wife.
Additionally, although Pervaiz said he attended graduate classes at both Columbia and Harvard, these institutions have no evidence of his attendance.
I have a feeling that as this case develops, we may see Mr. Pervaiz become a "person of interest."
